This year we managed to visit another very interesting area producing great red teas, Ying De in Guang Dong province. In this area, which is about 400 meters above the sea level, there are several smaller tea factories.
We visited the Hongyan factory. There also runs a research station and a large botanical garden, where you can find most of Chinese tea cultivars.
Our tea is from the oldest part of the garden and it is from 60 years old tea shrubs. Its processing and taste reminds of Dian Hong Golden Tips.
Aroma: intense aroma of fruits (orange, apricot), dried and fresh flowers, cocoa, rare woods and meadow honey
Taste: full, sweet with hints of apricot, cocoa, spices (vanilla) with a long sweet-spicy aftertaste
