Very nice tea from Zhong Cha. This is a grade 3 from 2002, aged for 3 years (nowadays they are usually aged for less time) in large bamboo baskets. The fermentation was longer than is traditionally done for these types, so the expression may be reminiscent of fermented teas from Yunnan.
Nose: intense, attractive with notes of gingerbread, cocoa, cream, walnut, roasted almonds, rotten wood
Mouth: very strong, attractive, full-bodied with dominant notes of cocoa, nuts, cream, raspberry jam and a long creamy finish
