The Iron Goddess is one of the most famous oolongs. Much has been written about the origin of his name. One of the legends tells of the Chinese goddess of compassion Kuan-ji (Iron Goddess of Mercy), who was the patron saint of a decaying temple. Near of it was a treasure in the form of a tea bush from which this delicate tea became. Because of it this tample and its surrounding became famous in whole Fujian province.
This Tie Guan Yin belongs to a group of bright oolongs – that the tea leaves were only slightly oxidized, which corresponds to the current trend of the producers of this tea (formerly the fuller oxidation of the leaves was preferred and noble tones of „baking“ were desired).
The aroma and taste is domination of fresh tones of fresh flowers, herbs and fruits.
